What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Reliability runs through the accounts of Leeds Solar, with customers in Armley and across the city returning for repeat work over many years. Several reviewers describe the company handling solar photovoltaic installations, battery storage and electric vehicle chargers, often on older properties where roof access and existing wiring demand care. Praise recurs for the quoting stage, where customers say they were listened to and given detailed system designs, useful product data and more than one option to weigh up, followed by a site survey to confirm feasibility.

Competitive pricing and clear documentation come up repeatedly, as does the aftercare: one long-standing customer notes that service remained consistent from quote through installation and beyond, with a technical query answered patiently after an unrelated electrician had caused a glitch. Named member Simon is singled out for that support. Reviewers also mention tidiness, punctuality and quick resolution of snags, leaving neat installations, and office staff who respond promptly to questions. An aspect raised across a number of reviews is the value of the company's long experience, cited by one customer who has commissioned systems on a home, an office roof and a forthcoming new house.

Leeds Solar have provided me with a great installation on my old house, and on our office roof. We are having them come back to do our new house later this year. You can't beat actual experience. They have been operating for a long time and have learned all the lessons, so I can trust that I am in good hands.

I started looking into solar energy a couple of years ago thinking that it might be a good way to avoid future rises in electricity bills. This year, I decided to take my research to a new level and started reading about how solar systems actually worked, whether a battery was worthwhile and could it even lead to generating an income by reselling excess power? I looked at different types of panels, batteries and inverters. Which performed best, guarantees and user recommendations. I built up a list of what I wanted. Then comes the hard part. Who do you use that can do the job that you really want? It's amazing how many companies claim to be able to instal for free (although you never own anything any may well have trouble selling your property as you don't own the equipment), to those who quote prices that sound too good to be true and usually are. I started with the obvious choice. Why not use your energy company? Thousands of sales, relatively cheap and one phone call away. Then comes the but. And it's a big but. Oh … we only have one type of panel. No, it doesn't provide the output of many of the newer panels. Battery - Of course. You can have any brand you want as long as it is the single model that we stock. So, sit back and look through what local people recommend from a local firm. A firm that didn't just start when panels suddenly became popular but has a reputation based on a couple of decades of experience. I scanned the website for Leeds Solar and was impressed by the variety of installations and the vast array of positive reviews. After one simple email, a very knowledgeable guy came round the same week to have a look a what could be done for me. I knew what I ideally wanted and was pleasantly surprised when he agreed with my assessment and the measurements allowed me to have the quantity of panels that I required and battery backup in my chosen location. I was given many choices and everything was a fixed price. There are no "special" offers or discounts if you sign up the same day etc that you see from less reputable companies. The price list is clear and provides options from modest budgets to those that would like to survive a zombie apocalypse off-grid. I chose somewhere in the middle. Panels on the front and rear of my property with a large capacity battery and the ability to continue if the power grid goes offline. It will take me slightly longer to break even but the equipment comes with manufacturer warranties that will last long after I am gone. The feed in tariffs from most energy suppliers will also give a nice bonus for three quarters of the year. Installation was literally two weeks after the order. You don't have to pay the full cost up front which allows for peace of mind knowing that you pay the final chunk when the system is up and running. Scaffolding was put up in a matter of hours by a great team (it was also taken down a couple of days after the installation rather than being left for weeks). The installation team did a fabulous job. The panels were installed perfectly, to millimetre precision and perfectly aligned on my roof. Even the original builders of my house couldn't have done a better job. The electrical work was performed to exacting standards. Very tidy cabling and the equipment installation just looks like something from a glossy magazine. Each day, any mess from that day was cleaned up. Everyone was friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. I now have a fully functional system that I can monitor and adjust from a very nice app on my phone. I can honestly say that I would recommend Leeds Solar to anybody considering future proofing energy prices or wanting to be more environmentally friendly. I get no commission of kickbacks from writing this review. I just felt it necessary to provide some positive feedback for an absolutely amazing job from the team. Well done guys and thank you so much!

Very poor customer service and aftercare. The inverter stopped working and they have failed to replace it despite taking the money for it. Technician attended and said there was another issue which I am still waiting to hear about. Poor communication. The person answering the phone today hung up on me. Avoid at all cost.

Leeds solar have installed two solar pv systems with battery back up at our house. They also installed an EV charger. Their office based staff and installation team for the 2nd installation were great, any issues were quickly resolved leaving a neat and tidy install.

Leeds Solar recently installed 6kw solar panels and a battery to my property. Leeds Solar were recommended by friend however we still took quotes from three other companies before deciding on Leeds Solar. The decision was an easy one as Leeds Solar not only provided a very competitive quote their customer service was streets ahead of the other companies. They were the only company to actually visit our property and look at the suitability of the roof. They also spent time discussing our electricity use and working out what size panel array / battery would work best for us. While other companies tried to upsell or just give us a standard package, Leeds Solar worked to get a solution that was bespoke to our needs. Once we agreed to use them their communication was excellent and the work was carried out quickly and to a high standard. We have also found their aftercare to be excellent and they have responded to any queries we have had quickly and professionally. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is considering getting solar.

It's been nine years since we had 4kW of PV installed on our bungalow roof in Guiseley. It was a decision we never regretted, and I'm sure we couldn't have found a better company than Leeds Solar to do the work. Highly recommended.

We had great service from Leeds Solar fitting integrated solar panels into our new roof on our 1920's house, and installing a battery. They also helped sorted out some other electrical issues for us in which was quite a complicated project. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and we'd definitely recommend them.
