Cambridge Solar

This is a live update of my current situation with Cambridge Solar, today's date 7th Aug 25, and please read the reply from Cambridge solar continuing to refuse responsibilities furthermore unable to comment on the horrible standard of work they performed, think about this before you engage with them, do you want to spend your next few weeks or months having to handle these group of unprofessionals who insist in not providing any replies, date or time or can you put your money in a better place where they actually complete the job in 2 days, fyi, I never told them anything about my house, I think most people would not in my situation and I leave the rest to your own judgement of what sort of web is spinning here: 1. The installation was mounted on a wobbly metal frame that is not secure to the ground 2. The wiring and trunking were poorly done, resulting in large gaps 3. The installation did not take 2 days as agreed, Cambridge come and go as they pleased for approx 2 weeks, expecting someone to always be in the house when they show up and leaving soda cans and cigarette butts in the front and back gardens 4. Cambridge Solar damaged a ceiling panel (I tested a sample and found asbestos) in my house, then in violation of H&S they continued working and allow the fibers to travel in and out of the house. You won't see this clearly from the picture but the fiber went everywhere under the board. We had to completely sealed off the whole area and because Cambridge Solar refused to behave in a professional way, we had to buy whatever we can from Wickes to seal the area. 5. Cambridge Solar did not take responsibility of damages and needed repairs til this date, no action were taken. Cambridge Solar refuses to carry out or pay for the removal in accordance to HSE 6. We are not safe in our own home, some people are reporting dry cough. 7. What is worse is, Cambridge Solar and Best Electrical had hired an unlicensed asbestos company ineligible for the work, of which just like their usual work standard, no date, no time, no clear communication, not a job with any intention to be done with any integrity or professional code. Further to this unlicensed asbestos company insist in not providing any dates 8. Cambridge Solar did not provide a MSC cert, I therefore cannot receive the exporting tariff as advertised as an incentive by Cambridge Solar I have contacted the local authorities due to the anxiety and concern about the lack of actions regarding the asbestos. Asbestos removal costs minimum £3000. I will also update more with videos and photos as we progress. We have to contact the newspaper so that no more people fall for the scam.

Very pleased with the way the Cambridge Solar team have handled our new Solar installation from start to finish. Highly recommended.

January installation went well despite awful weather and very happy with friendly efficient service from whole team. So far producing power even this time of year, nearly completed grid export connection which has also gone smoothly and all my fears about what may go wrong were completely wrong. I would recommend over the top google searches that offer questionable grants.

I am very pleased my son recommended Cambridge Solar. Everyone I dealt with was professional pleasant and helpful. The equipment has been neatly fitted and everything left in a clean tidy state. Very happy with the result.

Cambridge Solar were thorough and professional from start to finish. All activities were satred and completed on schedules and the standard of the installation was excellent. I would recommend them without hesitation.

The installation was in 2 phases; first was the solar array and wiring of inverter and household connections. This took place on the agreed day, work was extremely high quality and has worked faultlessly since (about 2 months). The second stage, installation of the Powerwall was held up by about 2 months due to supply issues from the USA. This work was also of impeccable quality and the technicians very helpful in giving advice regarding accessing the (very complex) system through the (very intuitive)Tesla App. This last stage was completed about a week ago, and we are still learning the intricacies and cleverness of the software, supplying domestic power and charging the car. We have used virtually no power from the grid during daytime hours, and about 80% independent overall (currently). The system was on budget, and only delayed by the supply issue from the USA; our only (very small criticism) was that communications regarding final installation date could have been a bit better. But overall, I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

We have just had a 10-panel solar PV system and EV charger installed by Cambridge Solar. They did an excellent job from start to finish, including designing the system to make best use of our roof space, installing the panels and associated electrical equipment and commissioning the system. We found their staff were very professional, carried out a high standard job and worked hard to meet the deadline. Their project management team kept in contact with us and answered any questions we had. We felt quite confident throughout the whole installation process. We are very happy with the outcome and would recommend Cambridge Solar to anyone who wants a high-quality solar system installed.
