Contact Solar

From my first call, Contact Solar have been responsive, helpful and patient describing the process and issues I would need to consider. Once I had decided to appoint them to instal a battery the way forward was explained and they kept in regular contact. Installation went smoothly and I have not had any issues in my first week although they will continue to provide advice if needed. Recommended.

Contact Solar have done all our planning and installation of Solar panels and batteries at a very competitive price. During this period everything was done very professionally, though it took slightly longer as we live in a village. After installation the paperwork was done in record time and move over to EDF generation tariff is being handled by them. There has always been someone to talk to and help whenever needed. Highly recommended.

Update, Kate from contact solar got in touch with me and arranged an engineer to come out sat 29th. This was cancelled that morning however the engineer did come Sunday 30th first thing. Unfortunately the panels are still not working and another appointment will be required to check them but this means scaffold will need to be installed again, which is less than ideal. However, Thankful that contact solar are now working to get this resolved Disappointing post-installation support for a failed 6-month-old system. I had a Sunsynk system installed by Contact Solar in February 2026. Unfortunately, on 8th August, the panels stopped generating solar entirely. Despite trying basic resets, the system remains completely dead. Given the system is only six months old, I expected a prompt response. Instead, I was initially told to expect a 4-to-6-week wait just for an engineer to diagnose the issue, citing staff shortages and annual leave. After pushing back, I was told they would aim to get someone out by 28th August. Today 25th, I received an email confirming that an engineer cannot come out this week. Instead, they offered a vague window of “the week starting 15th September" without any fixed date or commitment. While the initial installation process went fine, the aftercare has been entirely unacceptable. Leaving a customer with a non-functional, brand-new system for well over a month without even being able to book a specific appointment date shows a serious lack of organisation and customer care.

I sought quotes for solar panels and battery from many suppliers and wasn't satisfied with any of them. A neighbour recommended Contact Solar, having recently used them. Contact Solar was a breathe of fresh air. The sales person was friendly yet professional, and very open about the product. We agreed a very competitive price and a system providing the greatest generation capacity of all the quotes I received. The survey and istallation was straightforward with no surprises or unexpected charges. There was a minor miscommunication at one point but the response from the team in the office was exemplary and quickly resolved the issue. Based on my experience I will recommend Contact to friends and neighbours.

When we had solar installed, just under 5 years ago, Contact Solar were absolutely brilliant. The installation went without a hitch and although we had a couple of teething problems they were resolved quickly and with minimal fuss. Over the years we have had cause to contact them on a few occasions and the service was excellent. The service was so good we recommended them to friends looking for solar. That has all changed. Whether it's the take over by EDF I can only speculate but it does seem very coincidental. Our battery is not working as it should and I reported this to Contact Solar in June. The initial response was to reboot the system - funnily enough I'd already tried that without success. The problem would be referred to their engineers I was told. I chased for an update without response and had to resort to escalating the complaint. To cut a long story short we've paid for an engineer to do an on-site visit but we still haven't been contacted to arrange a date. Considering the summer we've had I hate to think how much not having a working battery has cost. Once upon a time I would have wholeheartedly recommended Contact Solar - now I would advise looking elsewhere and having looked at recent reviews it appears I'm not alone.

Absolutely first class service! Time from placing order, getting G99 process started, to completed instal was several months. But the work was very diligently and professionally completed. Technician was very neat, kept his work area clean and left everything spotless on completion. Sun Synk set up is fantastic, app is perhaps not as intuitive as it could be, but booked walk through / training with Contact Solar. All in all 10 out of 10!

Of the several shortlisted installers we considered these were one of the only two who listened, who juggled the various factors and came up with a solution with maximum gain and minimum drawbacks on the elevations of a difficult property. The equipment proposed was a good balance of cost and capacity and has proved to be able to perform at higher than specification in its first two months. The people are without exception (and including the scaffolding contractors who are often quite feral, these were civilised!) friendly, polite, tidy and happy to explain what they are doing. Even our guard cat approved. The company has some internal communication issues typical of a small company growing rapidly. Job sequencing is function based ('silo' is the fashionable word) rather single point of contact and there are minor 'misfires' and hiccups as others have noticed. Companies grow out of this, it's fairly common. The sheer 'personality' of the business makes up for it though it should be fixed for excellence! Paperwork and pricing including an insurance backed warranty were thorough and very competitive and a change arising half way through was easily dealt with. On paper and with a functioning system now installed definitely value for money. Would I recommend them? Yes with only that minor reservation, the need for tighter job management. A solid four and two thirds stars rounded up to five!
