Wickes Solar

Extremely poor customer service from Ellie and Wickes Solar. They use good contractors however, let themselves down with their in house customer service dept. For this reason I would strongly advise to avoid going through Wickes and just directly find a local solar business to support instead!

14 solar panels and two batteries installed under order number 42409, went excellently. The installers arrived and the roofer repaired two broken tiles we knew nothing about, using spares he created by replacing some tiles to install the panel brackets. The electrician explained everything during the day. My electric use and cost has dropped by over £100 a month so far. Would highly recommend this company as the after care technical support has been first rate. 2nd year update - I still think the after sales technical support is really good, and I am saving around £130 a month on energy bills, but.....when I asked the sales team if I could have additional batteries installed I was told they are no longer available. So I would have to change all of them if I wanted to increase my storage capacity. That is not very good, I'd expect better longevity on the kit I purchased so my star rating is dropped to 3 out of 5. Something for potential buyers and existing owners to consider.

After seeking several quotes, we opted to purchase our solar from Solar Fast. They provided a decent package, for a good price, which was tailored to fit our needs and wishes. I cannot fault the sales team, scaffolders or installers. Once we had signed up, our installation took place without delay and was completed within the day. The engineers did a very neat and tidy job with the siting of equipment and cabling and left no mess. Each stage worked smoothly and the app is so easy to understand and use. We were able to tell we had made a sensible investment within the first few days, by viewing our performance. The team have been friendly, efficient, reliable and approachable. It was nice to be able to support a local firm too.

Solar Fast provided a great customer experience in all stages. The sales representative provided all the information required and very clearly explained all the metrics and how they were calculated. The installation took place shortly after the contract was signed and the work was done efficiently. The team explained what was needed to get the cabling from the solar panels to the converter and from this to the mains power and how that could be achieved. The office team contacted a few times to check all was going right and sent all the paperwork required to sell electricity to the grid. All seems to be working properly and I see a reduction on the electricity bill and I'm happier for using more eco-friendly electricity. The only improvement I see is with the contracted scaffolding company - they just appeared and never called to say which day they were coming. Order 56025

Ben came over after I finished work and spoke through the procedure after we agreed to sign up for the solar panels. We agreed a rough date for the date of installation. The next day Jordan from Customer Service rang to see when we wanted to book the installation for, we got the date we wanted. On the day of installation, the scaffolding arrived at about 7.15am then the 3 lads came to do complete the installation about 8am. They were good, cleaned up after themselves. They were courteous and kept me updated where necessary throughout the day. Everything was installed without a hitch. I was shown how to install and use the programme on the app, which is easy to follow, so I can keep track of how the system is doing.

Excellent company. Can't rate Solar Fast highly enough. From the initial telephone conversation to the fast and efficient installation, they have been nothing but professional. Extremely knowledgeable staff, who gave enough clear and comprehensive information, facts and figures to enable us to make an informed decision. Communication was excellent throughout, with emails and phone calls to check we were happy at every stage. Excellent customer service.
