Nationwide Renewables

4.0(217 reviews)·Leeds

Nationwide Renewables installs solar panels and batteries out of Leeds, and many reviewers describe helpful, patient consultations from Priya and Danielle, tidy installation teams and noticeable falls in electricity bills once panels and batteries such as Nest and Q Cell systems are running. However, a substantial number of other reviewers raise serious, recurring concerns, including installations proceeding without MCS certification being disclosed upfront, delayed or incorrect paperwork with the local DNO, panels supplied at a different wattage than ordered, and slow, difficult-to-reach aftercare when problems arose. As a solar panel installer in Leeds, Nationwide Renewables holds a 4-star average from 217 Google reviews.

STAY AWAY FROM NATIONWIDE RENEWABLES LTD. From the start they lie to customers. Not once did the sales rep PRIYA say this company was not MCS REGISTERED. 1. I Ordered 440w black duo panels they delivered and fitted 405wPV Panels. When I complained about this they change them to 435w black BI Facial panels. Then blame there supplier for the mistake. 2.No scaffolding was supplied for the guys to work off. 3 LET'S BE TOTALLY TRANSPARENT is thier motto. 4.Priya told us we would be paid 15p for all electric we sent back to the grid with Octopus Energy Ltd. Anything under £500 Nationwide Renewables Ltd would pay the difference. LIER. Not had a single penny, not even connected to the grid. 5. 13 months on I STILL DO NOT HAVE COMPLETE PAPERWORK FOR MY SOLAR SYSTEM. I cannot understand a word of what the people in the call centre has to say. This Company is absolutely attrition STAY CLEAR. USE ANOTHER COMPANY.

It's been 9 months now nothing has changed false Dno sent with wrong name and address. Then I got an email with meter number and Dno. Octopus cannot except this. Mistakes upon mistakes sick to my back teeth of false promises. I have got my building regulation certificate but that's all. I am now that fed up with it all. my anxiety is through the roof I refuse to speak to anyone even considering taking them to court more stress more anxiety. We are now paying a bank loan our bills have not gone down at all

Absolutely avoid this company. Nationwide Renewable are not MCS certified, and they do not make this clear before you sign the contract. This is crucial information that directly impacts your ability to switch energy providers, and withholding it is completely unacceptable. Because of their lack of certification, you can end up facing extra charges — for example, Octopus Energy may charge around £250 to switch you if your system isn’t MCS certified and Flexi-Orb registered. On top of that, they damaged my cladding while putting up the scaffolding. I reported this issue, and it has been completely ignored. No repair, no accountability, nothing. This company shows a serious lack of transparency, professionalism, and responsibility. What should have been a straightforward installation has turned into stress, extra costs, and property damage. Also, they will delay to send your documents for months.

Nationwide Renewables Ltd and Right NRG Ltd group Nationwide Renewables Ltd does not even deserve one star. I gave this company the benefit of the doubt having seen bad reviews but thought I would give this small company a chance. That was a big mistake! I had Solar Panels installed and final payment made 3rd April 2024. The contract signed was for Solar Panels with MCS Certificate and all other certificates withing 14 days of the install. This is section 9 of their T&C’s. Nationwide Renewables Ltd at this time were a member of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC). I unfortunately found out later by searching the internet that Nationwide Renewables Ltd on the 17th April 2024 had been terminated from this body following a review by the Non-Compliance Panel. This is the body that provided the MCS Certificates. After the 14 Days I have e-mailed, rang (nobody available or no answer) raised tickets on their website to be told it is in process. This same standard response went on for months. They did ring me shortly after trying to sell me a battery but told them to get the paperwork completed on the solar install as being waiting 3 months. Nothing happened. They rang a few months later and tried to sell me solar panels quoting a postcode that does not exist! At first, I thought it was a call about resolving my documentation issue, I was not happy and this showed how incompetent they are. In March 2025 I advised that if I do not receive the correct documentation, I will seek legal action. I was told they would look into it and then advised they would arrive in two weeks. Another two weeks later it was then going to be mid-April 2025. Nothing happened. So, I then engaged Solicitors in April 2025 who spent 9 months trying to progress this with Nationwide Renewables Ltd and they acknowledged the issue but did nothing to resolve it in anyway. On the 19th of February 2026 I filed a claim for the lost feed in tariff as a result of not receiving the correct documentation to claim this. Nationwide Renewables Ltd had until the 19th of March 2026 to respond to this and did nothing. As a result of this the County Court awarded a judgement in my favour. At the same time, I was in correspondence with Nationwide Renewables Ltd via Whats App. Through this they issued me a Buildings Regulations Compliance Certificate from a company called Right NRG Limited. On the 19th of March 2026 they sent me a link to Octopus to sign upto their feed in tariff at a cost to me of £250 and the weblink warned it might not be successful. Nationwide Renewables Ltd then advised they have now completed all of their obilgations! So, it took them nearly 2 years to simply fob me off with this. I advised what my contract clearly stated. I have further investigated what appears to be a group of companies on Companies House search. The Holding Company is Right First Time Group Limited, Co. Number 16606581 Subsidiaries Right First Time Marketing Limited, Co. Number 16611661 RFT Solutions Limited, Co. Number 16099486 Right NRG Limited, Co. Number 13742577 Nationwide Renewables Limited, Co. Number 10453043 Director of all these companies is Haitem Bulgasim. Based on my experience I have put this review up to make others aware, so they don’t make the same costly mistake I did by dealing with these unprofessional amateurs who are not answerable to any regulated body. AVOID THIS GROUP. If they respond to this with sorry to hear this and let may take a look at this then you know nothing is going to happen as that is what they have been saying for 2 years.

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY If I could give minus stars I would, We had solar panels and battery installed by this company at the beginning of September 25, didn’t get the smart heating fitted for at least a week later, when it was fitted, we paid the outstanding balance as section 14 of there contract,. Balance to be paid on completion, guess what they then demanded a late payment charge of £183. Because we didn’t pay after the first part of the install, there customer service is no where to been seen, we have tried hundreds of times to contact them to get the paper work, SEG, smart export guarantee, to receive payment from the power company for excess power from the panels and they are not interested, just want to throw the panels on you roof, get paid and then dump you, we don’t even have any guarantee paper work or installation paper work in case anything goes wrong with it. So will you please get you staff to contact us and let’s finish this process, and no I will not take down this review on the pretence of getting the job finished,

Update: An independent inspection by an MCS-accredited engineer has formally confirmed that this installation is unsafe, non-compliant with Building Regulations, and poses a fire risk. The system has been emergency-disconnected. I have now initiated formal legal proceedings. I strongly advise others to seek independent professional assessments and legal advice rather than waiting for the company to rectify the issues. Nationwide Renewables used misleading sales tactics, relying on MCS calculators and making promises that only an MCS-accredited installer could legally deliver. They claimed our system would qualify for Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments, but as they have no MCS accreditation, this claim is false. Since installation, we have not received: • An invoice • The correct solar panels or the promised voltage optimiser • Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), DNO approval, or ownership documentation • Company or product warranties • Building Regulations Certificate Along with failing to issue an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) they also did not notify Building Control, which is a legal requirement under Building Regulations Part P (Electrical Safety – Dwellings). This means our solar system was installed without the legally required safety certification. Despite repeated requests for all missing paperwork, they have refused to provide a refund or resolve the issues. Their RECC membership was terminated in 2024, as was their MCS membership, and they are not a member of NAPIT, NICEIC or any other Competent Persons Scheme. We believe this is why they are unable to provide the guarantees and certifications they advertise. This company’s behaviour appears fraudulent and deceptive. If you’ve had a similar experience, I urge you to report them to Action Fraud, Trading Standards, Citizens Advice and your bank, and speak to a lawyer or consider taking them to small claims court to recover your losses. If you would like to talk about this further, please contact me - Google search my name and contact me on social media - Facebook / LinkedIn etc.

Extremely poor post-installation customer service – would strongly advise others to be cautious before dealing with this company. Initially, we were impressed by the sales engineer who visited our home and presented an appealing deal. He confidently assured us that after installing the solar panels, we would not have to pay any further electricity bills apart from the monthly direct debit for the panels themselves. The company was very proactive in contacting us for payments — they called multiple times to ensure all three instalments were made within 1–2 weeks. However, once the full payment and installation were completed, the communication stopped completely. When we tried to contact our assigned representative regarding the post-installation export certificate (which is essential to trade electricity back to the grid), we were informed that she no longer works with the company. Since then, we have called numerous times, raised several complaint tickets, and received absolutely no response. Until now, we still have not received the export certificate from Nationwide Renewable. Without this document, we cannot complete the grid trading process with our electricity provider — effectively rendering part of the system’s benefit useless. This is by far the worst customer service experience we have encountered in our seven years living in the UK. The company’s attitude after taking full payment is unacceptable and unprofessional. We are now considering taking legal action and filing a formal complaint through the appropriate channels. Avoid this company if you value transparency, reliability, and proper post-installation support.
