This company are probably the worst bunch of contractors I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with. From day one - never turned up on promised dates or times, the after sales support is non existent in so much I had to engage a 3rd party company to fix issues with their wiring connections and programming parameters when our system went down. I called them on 8th on December, (and please note we are totally off grid), their service support informed they couldn’t possibly get here before mid January 2026! From the beginning they never came to site to conduct a survey, (alarm bells should have been ringing then), the 1st team of fitters arrived at lunchtime, (days after the scheduled date), complaining they’d had a 2 hour drive and then went home after an hour without doing anything, the 2nd team arrived with the panels all piled on top of each other un boxed, sliding around getting scratched in the van with the tool boxes! They clearly hadn’t installed an in-roof system before and left before completing only to return days later after I complained that some of the panels on the roof hadn’t been fastened down! After that their knowledge of the SunSynk inverter/batteries supplied was very lacking to say the least and only now do I find out that they’re not on the SunSynk website list of approved installers! Weeks later when the system went totally down I had to source a 3rd party company myself, (as their service ‘manager’ was too busy), upon receipt of the 3rd party’s report into their findings, (who were brilliant by the way), I forwarded it Start Solar GB for comment and a week later, yes you’ve guessed it - no comment

Good communication and sensible pricing. Team arrived promptly to install and took great care to protect our property and install equipment neatly and professionally. Minor software settings were corrected quickly. System has been up and running for a couple of months without issue and, even though it is autumn, making savings.

They are great at being in touch when they want your deposit. When it comes to actually telling you that they are starting work things get rather flakier. It was going to be Monday then they canceled which is fair enough but here we are on Tuesday: no phone call no email no intimation of when they plan to come. Their scaffolder tells me he is having difficulties too..

Low cost installation, quickly sold to us on the basis, anything was no problem. The actual experience was not so, but in the end we have an operational system that performs well, other than significant heat output from the inverter.

Over the two years we had solar panels and batteries installed everything has been working beautifully. With regards to ‘Foxcloud 2 ver app, it would be very useful to have real-time local monitoring data instead of 5min time delay.

From start to finish ,sale to installation,this company has been excellent. Friendly staff and they do what they say. When I required support this was provided. Communication with office good. I would recommend.

We had 14 panels and 2 batteries installed in June 2023. Since then we’ve generated 12 MWh and exported 2 MWs excess power to the grid. We have been very, very happy with the installation process and the subsequent flawless running of our system. We thoroughly recommend Start Solar
