What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Householders weighing up quotes for solar panels and battery storage describe a process that stays informative rather than pushy, with Jake guiding the specification and design. Customers repeatedly highlight the clarity of the advice, particularly around the number of panels, battery size and awkward roof shapes, and the willingness to answer detailed technical questions before any commitment is made. The written plan and estimate are said to arrive quickly, and several reviewers note how the proposed system was explained in plain terms without pressure.

On the day, the fitting teams are described as courteous, efficient and tidy, with the inverter and batteries positioned as requested and the installation finished within the expected timeframe. In one case, a roof problem discovered during the work was addressed promptly so the panels could go up and start generating. Communication with the building company involved in one project is also mentioned as smooth. Reviewers point to the system performing beyond expectations after several months of use, and to strong support after the installation was complete, alongside pricing that proved competitive for the same specification.

Very Highly Recommended. Having spent (wasted) a lot of time asking for quotes from several solar installers which never seemed to quote what we wanted, I contacted Jake @ Solidarity Solar to see what they could come up with. A site visit swiftly followed and a basic plan was formed. As is usual, after lot of questions (mainly terchnical) and 'what if's' discussed, all of which were explained clearly by Jake, we arrived at a final plan with future expansion potental for a further bank of panels. Final spec was GivEnergy All-in-One 13.5kW battery and Gateway, Fox 8kW inverter, 14x 480W panels all with Tigo optimisers and Gateway, replacement EV charger and a fair amount of cable/conduit/ rails/brackets and the very necessary bird proof metal mesh! The house roof is 3 floors up and the design meant scaffold on 3 sides of the house to get the panels on a big 40+ degreesouth facing roof with large dormers, which went surprisingly well on what turned out to be a rather hot day! The major thing that just about no-one else would tackle was an existing fairly large hot water solar panel which had been in service for 15 years or so which needed to be removed, no dramas and we all marveled at the internals of the old hot water panel while shifting back down to the ground... Paul the Electrical chap was able to accomodate my 'positioning' wishes for the kit and was neat, tidy and all clearly explained to me (I have a technical background) as much as I wanted or indeed, needed :-) Commissioning went without issue and it all worked first time and the guys were not afraid to work on until well after 7pm to ensure it was all updated (the updates take a while) and the App's all working etc. The whole team were extremely easy to work with and sure it wasn't cheap but a darn sight less (for far more) than anyone else. There was a huge amount of trust between myself and the Solidarity Solar team which made for a rather pleasant experience. Oh and the small matter of the house not using any grid power at all for fairly long periods of time which was the whole point really but until you see it, you are never really sure, I am now! Highly Recommended.

We would thoroughly recommend Jake and Solidarity Solar. From the outset when we were collecting quotes they were responsive and immediately came across as knowledgeable but not at all pushy on the sales front. Jake understood what we needed and answered lots of techy questions. The proposed design – negotiating an awkward roof shape and windows - covered a couple of options with number of panels and battery size so we could weigh up in detail exactly how we wanted to proceed. In the end we went with 8 panels and battery. Especially impressed with the firm’s ethics – Jake explained they use Eurener panels as other leading brands have questionable provenance via Chinese workshops or even links to slave trade. When they came for a site visit and viewed everything, again everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful, answering questions with confidence. The quote was competitive in price and the only one where we felt we’d got everything just as we wanted. Based on this and a recommendation from a friend, we had no hesitation choosing to go with Solidarity. When it came to the job they were great. The first day of fitting threw up a problem with our roof tiles as some of the mortar was old (or even missing), which held them up. But they were happy to address this and rather than hold up the job or insist we got a roofer in they tackled the issue and fixed the offending tiles at no extra cost to us – we’re very grateful for this. The roof fitters and electrician were super – worked hard and left everything tidy. As of today (day 2 after fitting) – everything is now bedded in, the panels and battery are working fine and the GivEnergy App is working exactly as explained to us. So overall a very positive experience.

I STRONGLY recommend Solidarity Solar. Jake visited us to plan our installation at my request and within 48 hours an estimate and written plan was received giving full details and indicated the system would pay for itself in 7 years. Having obtained another estimate I had no hesitation in choosing Solidarity and almost immediately an installation date was given. On the 1st day fixing mounts for for the panels were attached. On the 2nd day, panels were fitted and the electrician worked all day. By 4pm we were up and running. Well done team!!

Great service and advice from these guys. Highly recommend. In the end I didn’t need a replacement inverter but was given good, sound advice. I will go back to them when I need to. Genuine and knowledgeable.

Our project was not at all straightforward, but Solidarity were keen from the very beginning to accommodate our needs, and deliver something exceptional. Between the customers (there were initially 23 of us) and Solidarity, we worked out the best way forward, a feat made all the more difficult by the distance between us and Solidarity's base (Cornwall). This project was out of the comfort zone of both parties, but Jake and his team rose to the challenge, and were focussed on providing us an exceptional service. The market for solar and battery installations is becoming increasingly competitive, so given my experience with Solidarity, I will gladly recommend others to use their services and expertise. Our project was to employ a single company to supply and install PV + storage systems to multiple residential properties on a terraced street in Swindon. Out of 23 interested parties, Solidarity went on to install 10 properties with PV or PV + storage.
