If I could give them no stars I would. It's shocking that there is no adequate aftersales team. I have been contacting them since September to resolve multiple issues that were left from install, and they have not bothered to respond. Hanging wires left after installing, red light regularly flashing on the new batteries and no one to talk to nor respond to emails and multiple tickets raised. Now in July 26 and the issue is still not sorted. Called over 30 times in 1 day and you literally cannot talk to anyone even the sales team. I assume theyve done that so they dont have to deal with the multiple complaints coming in. Do not use them! Disgusting customer service if you can even call it that. Have had an issue with the new batteries since the moment they were installed, turns out they left unsafe wires hanging out, used the wrong sizes connectors. Battery wont charge and they wont come out to look at it, even though we pay a montly maintenence fee. Advertised as 24 support but you cant actually get any apart from them taking your money each month.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. I purchased a solar PV system from ESE in 2023, which included 14 solar panels, a hybrid inverter, 9.6kWh battery storage and what was described as a 15-year Solar PV maintenance package. The installation itself initially appeared to be fine, but my opinion of the company changed completely when I needed after-sales support. My battery system developed faults while still under warranty. I spent many months trying to get ESE to resolve the issue, making repeated attempts to contact them by phone and email. Their support line regularly disconnected after selecting the support option, and although I did receive occasional replies, no effective action was taken to resolve the fault. I was repeatedly left chasing updates and arranging further contact myself. I was also disappointed with the maintenance that was provided. Despite the maintenance package included with the system, no meaningful preventative maintenance was ever carried out in my experience. One visit consisted of someone looking at the solar panels from the ground before leaving. On another occasion an engineer came to my door and left again without carrying out any inspection of the inverter, batteries or electrical installation. This fell well short of what I expected when purchasing a system that included long-term maintenance. As the situation continued without resolution, I had no option but to commission an independent engineer's report and instruct another installer to investigate the problem. They identified a failed battery module, and the battery management system had entered a protection state that prevented the battery bank from charging correctly. The system was therefore not operating as intended. The most disappointing part of this experience was not that a component failed—any manufacturer can have equipment failures. It was the lack of effective after-sales support and the inability to obtain a timely warranty resolution. As a result, I was forced to pursue a Section 75 claim through my credit card provider to recover part of the costs of diagnosing and repairing the system. I genuinely hoped ESE would stand behind their installation and provide the level of service I expected when spending over £12,000 on a solar system, but unfortunately that was not my experience. I hope the company improves its after-sales support and maintenance service so that future customers receive the assistance they need when problems arise.

I wanted to give ESE Solar every opportunity to resolve this privately, but after months of chasing, I feel other customers should be aware of my experience. Our installation was completed in June 2025 and since then we have experienced multiple issues, including technical faults, missing documentation and extremely poor communication. The biggest issue is that our local Distribution Network Operator (Electricity North West) has confirmed in writing that they have never received the required G99 application for our 6kW solar installation. This has prevented us from completing the registration process with our energy supplier and from accessing an export tariff. We have contacted ESE Solar countless times by email, phone and through their support system. Most of the time we receive no response at all. On the rare occasions someone replies, we are simply told that the matter has been passed to another department or that somebody will contact us. Unfortunately, nobody ever does. After many months of trying to resolve this directly, we have now been forced to involve multiple organisations, including our DNO, the finance provider and IWA. IWA has acknowledged our complaint and has suspended ESE Group Holdings Limited's membership while the complaint remains unresolved. At the time of writing, we are still waiting for the outstanding documentation and for confirmation that the required G99 application has actually been submitted. What disappoints me most is not that problems occurred—issues can happen with any company—but the complete lack of communication, accountability and willingness to resolve them. If the company finally resolves these issues, I will happily update this review to reflect that. However, after many months of waiting, I cannot recommend ESE Solar based on my experience. I have also attached photos of how ESE repaired our bird protection mesh after it started falling off the installation. Their solution was to secure the mesh by drilling screws through the solar panel frames. I believe the photos speak for themselves.

We had an upgrade to our solar panels in February. I have not been able to benwfit from the SEG paymwnts scheme as the system has not been corrwctly registered with the Nationa Grid. It is proving impossible to get any response fro ESE Solar. Now investigating taking legal action for compensation as the system does not comply with the Nationa Requirements. Please note that the comoany is not MCS registered and so getting SEG is more difficult, proving impossible in my case. Please, do not use this company

Ticket 12980 A solar panel has since been found with extensive cracking across much of the module. ESE acknowledged that the panel requires replacement and advised they were sourcing a suitable replacement. Since then, communication has effectively ceased. Despite repeated requests, a formal complaint, and the potential health and safety implications of a damaged roof-mounted solar panel, no roof-level engineering inspection has been carried out and no replacement has been provided. I have now escalated the matter to the relevant certification, consumer protection and finance organisations while remaining willing to resolve the issue directly with ESE. I will update this review if the matter is resolved.

Avoid - took out a annual maintenance contract with ESE - they are great at sales but dont respond to anything else. Raise a few tickets - all closed without action. Called, emailed, asked for support - zero. If they cant get the basics right then would you want to spend money on capital investment with them - I suggest not.

Strongly advise against using ESE Solar due to the terrible after sales / technical support. Having raised a case in November 2025 about a battery charging issue and phoning multiple times each month for updates as of May 2026 there has been zero progress. However when I phoned about a sales quote amazingly there would have been someone in my area very soon and would look at the issue but only if I agreed to additional purchase.
